Overview
A tenant is your organisation's dedicated environment within CX Platform. It's where your users, data, branding and configuration all live, separate from any other customer running on the platform.
Requesting a new tenant is the first step before anyone in your team can start sending, receiving or managing communications. The setup itself is handled by Chandler's technical team, but the modules you can switch on, and how many users you can add, are tied directly to your active licences. It's worth checking what's covered under your agreement before you submit your request so there are no surprises at launch.
A note on licensing
The modules and user counts available to your tenant are determined by your current Chandler licence agreement. If you're not sure what's included, check with your account manager before requesting your tenant so you can configure it correctly from day one.
What you'll need before you start
Gathering this information up front makes the request smoother and avoids back-and-forth with the setup team. Here's everything you'll need to provide.
What happens next
Once your request is submitted, here's how things move forward.
- Chandler's technical team configures your new tenant using the domains you've provided, sets up your nominated admins, and provisions the modules covered by your licence.
- Your IT or security team may be looped in to help verify your domains and finalise SSO setup. We'll let you know what's needed at this stage.
- Once everything's in place, you'll receive your onboarding instructions, environment URLs, and initial admin credentials. From there, your admins can sign in and start setting up users and Applications.
That's it — your tenant will be ready to go, configured to match your licence and set up the way your business needs it.
Best practice tips
A few things worth getting right first time
Double-check the spelling of every domain you list, and make sure you've captured all the business domains your users sign in with. Nominate at least two user admins so you've always got backup access. And take a moment to review which modules you actually need at launch — you can always add more later as your licence expands, so there's no need to switch everything on if you won't use it straight away.
What's next
Once your tenant is live and your admin credentials are in hand, the next step is setting up your team and configuring your first Application. Take a look at the What is an Application? guide to get familiar with the core concept, then head to Create a new Application when you're ready to start building.
