Overview
A policy is a set of rules that governs a particular business transaction — things like a member joining a fund, running a SuperMatch search, or making a withdrawal. It tells the platform what checks need to happen, and how thorough they need to be, before that transaction can go ahead.
You're not limited to a single policy. You can configure and apply one policy or several, so different transactions can follow different rules depending on what they involve.
Policies are configured during onboarding, so they're tailored to your business and operational requirements from the start. The rules you see reflect how your organisation has chosen to handle identity and verification — you don't have to build them from scratch.
Good to know
Because policies are set up during onboarding to match your specific requirements, the policies you see — and the rules inside them — will be unique to your organisation.
What's inside a policy?
Each policy is made up of a set of requirements that define the checks a member needs to pass. The three to keep an eye on are Address verification, the PEP and Watchlist checks, and Allowed document types — these have the biggest impact on what a member is actually asked to do.
When you expand the Requirements section of a policy, here's what you'll find:
Standard and Advanced policies
Policies generally come in two types: Standard and Advanced. A Standard policy covers the everyday checks needed for a transaction, while an Advanced policy applies a higher level of identity checking — for example, adding screening like PEP and watchlist checks, or asking for more identity documents. Which type applies to a given transaction comes down to how your policies were set up during onboarding.
Where to find your policies
You can review the policies that apply to you any time from the Verify dashboard.
- In the primary navigation, click Verify.
- In the left-hand menu, under Verify settings, click Policies.
- Click Requirements on any policy to expand it and review its rules.
That's it — you can see exactly which policies apply and what each one checks for, all in one place.
