Channel Performance Insights

What you'll learn in this guide

‍Get to know the Send Activity dashboard — your reporting hub for the Send module. We'll walk you through what each view shows, how to filter the data, and how to turn what you're seeing into smarter decisions for your next campaign.

Send Activity is where you go to see how your communications are actually performing once they're out the door. Whether you're checking in on yesterday's send, comparing last quarter's campaigns, or hunting down a delivery issue, the dashboard pulls everything you need into one place — sent volumes, open rates, bounces, link clicks, and domain-level performance. Think of it as your single source of truth for channel performance and engagement. The data updates as activity comes in, so you can move from "I think the campaign went well" to "here's exactly how it landed" in just a few clicks.

View your campaign performance

Getting to your reporting takes just a couple of steps:

  1. From the secondary navigation, click Send Activity to open the Reporting Dashboard.
  2. Review your headline performance metrics across the dashboard, including:
    • Volume Sent — how many messages went out
    • Open — how many recipients opened your message
    • Bounces — messages that didn't reach the inbox
    • Link Clicks — engagement with the links inside your message
    • Domains — how your sends performed across different email providers

Filter your results

Filters are your friend here — they're what take the dashboard from a broad summary to a focused view of exactly what you're interested in.

  1. In the Send Activity reporting dashboard, you can access the Filters directly above the charts.
  2. From the filter dropdowns, select the Application (or campaigns), Channels and Date Ranges you want to look at.
  3. Click Filter to apply.

The dashboard will refresh to show data just for what you've selected. Filtering by campaign is especially handy when you want to compare different sends side by side or track how a specific communication is trending over time.

You can stack filters to get really specific — for example, looking at one campaign across a particular date range, or filtering by channel to see how your email performance compares with SMS.

Get to know the dashboard tabs

The Send Activity dashboard is split into four tabs, each giving you a different angle on your communications. Here's what each one is good for and when you'd reach for it.

Overview: your at-a-glance snapshot

The Overview tab is your starting point — a quick read on how things are tracking across the board. It pulls together three key views:

  • Channel Performance — shows how your sends are distributed across Email, SMS, and Print. Use this to spot which channels are doing the heavy lifting and where there might be room to shift the mix.
  • Engagement Status — breaks down what's been opened, what hasn't, and what's bounced. Strong open rates usually mean your targeting and subject lines are landing; a spike in bounces is a flag to check your data quality or deliverability.
  • Application Insights — tells you which applications or message types are making up the bulk of your sends. It's a good way to identify your high-volume, business-critical communications and keep an eye on how they're performing.

Volumes: dig into the detail

When you need to go a level deeper than the Overview, the Volumes tab is where to head. You can slice your data two ways:

  • By Application — see volume, open rates, and bounce rates broken down for each message type, across every channel. It's the quickest way to spot which communications are pulling their weight and which ones might need a rethink.
  • By Time (per day or per month) — track how your activity ebbs and flows over time. Handy for spotting seasonal patterns, identifying your peak sending periods, or catching a drop-off you didn't expect.

Domains: understand your deliverability

The Domains tab shows you how your messages are performing at recipient mail providers — Gmail, Outlook, your customers' corporate domains, and so on. It's the first place to look if you suspect a deliverability issue.

If one provider is showing weaker performance than the others, that's a useful signal. It might mean your messages are being filtered or flagged, and it gives you the information you need to take action — whether that's reviewing your authentication settings, content, or sender reputation.

Links: see what's grabbing attention

The Links tab tells you what your recipients are actually clicking once they open your message. Two metrics do most of the work here:

  • Total Clicks — which links are pulling the most traffic? Whether it's a call-to-action button, a login page, or a social link, this tells you where your audience's attention is going.
  • Click-Through Rate — how effective your links are at prompting action, relative to how many people saw them. A high CTR is a strong sign your content is resonating.

Compare campaigns and spot trends

One of the most useful things you can do in Send Activity is compare. The filters and views are built to let you look across campaigns, channels, and time periods so you can answer the questions that actually matter:

  • How does this month's campaign stack up against last month's?
  • Is one channel consistently outperforming the others?
  • Are open rates trending up, down, or holding steady?
  • Which applications are driving the most engagement — and which ones could do with a refresh?
    ‍

Looking at the data side by side is what turns reporting into insight. A single campaign tells you what happened; comparing campaigns tells you what's changing.

Turn insights into action

Reporting is only useful if it informs what you do next. Here are some of the practical ways teams use Send Activity to sharpen their campaigns:

  • Catch issues early — a sudden bounce spike or a dip in opens is your cue to check your data, deliverability, or content before the next send goes out.
  • Optimise your design — let real engagement data guide your decisions about subject lines, calls to action, and content layout.
  • Test and learn — use the dashboard to measure A/B tests and confirm what's actually moving the needle.
  • Report up — pull clear, visual data straight into stakeholder updates, so you can show the impact of your communications without needing to build slides from scratch.

Quick recap
‍
Send Activity gives you visibility, comparison, and direction — three things every campaign needs. Start with the Overview for the big picture, jump into Volumes, Domains, or Links when you want detail, and use filters to focus in on the campaigns that matter most.
