Overview
Once you've scheduled a campaign, it sits in a holding pattern waiting for its send time. But sometimes things shift. A stakeholder spots a typo, the launch date moves, or the campaign needs to be called off altogether.
The good news is you've got three options for handling a scheduled send, and they all live in the same place. Whether you need a short delay, an indefinite hold, or to scrap the campaign entirely, you can sort it without filing a ticket.
Which option should you use?
Reschedule if the campaign still needs to go out, just at a different time.
Pause if you need to put it on hold and you're not sure when (or whether) you'll send it.
Cancel if the campaign isn't going ahead at all. Heads up: this one can't be undone.
Find your scheduled campaign
Pause, reschedule, and cancel all start from the same place. Get to your scheduled campaign first, then pick what you want to do with it.
- In the secondary navigation, click Lists to view your campaigns.
- Find the campaign you're after. It'll have a status of Scheduled.
- Open the List to bring up the Record view.
- Click the Manage dropdown. This is where your three options live.
Reschedule a campaign
If the send time needs to move (earlier, later, or to a different day), rescheduling drops you back into the same workflow you used to set the campaign up in the first place.
- From the Manage dropdown, click Send. Don't worry, this won't fire the campaign off straight away. It opens the send workflow so you can update the timing.
- Update the send date and time, then save your changes.
- Your campaign keeps its Scheduled status and will go out at the new time. Everything else (recipients, content, channel rules) stays exactly as it was.
Pause a campaign
Pause is the right call when you're not ready to commit to a new time yet. Maybe you're waiting on sign-off, double-checking content, or holding for a stakeholder to chime in. The campaign sits tight until you come back to it.
- From the Manage dropdown, click Pause.
That's it. The campaign is now on an indefinite hold and won't send until you reschedule it. Nothing else changes, so when you're ready to pick it back up, just head to the Manage dropdown again and click Send to set a new time.
Cancel a campaign
If the campaign isn't going ahead at all, cancelling stops the send and clears out the List and Records associated with it. It's the cleanest way to remove a scheduled campaign from your workspace.
This can't be undone
Cancelling removes the List and its Records permanently. If there's any chance you'll want the campaign back later, pause it instead.
- From the Manage dropdown, click Delete.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your campaign is now cancelled, and the List and Records have been removed. If you need to send something similar down the track, you can start fresh or copy an existing Application as a head start.
