Publish a Form

What you'll learn in this guide

How to save and publish a form so it's live and accessible to users, and how to enable or disable a form without deleting it.

Overview

There are two steps between finishing a form and putting it in front of users. First, you save your work — which stores the current state of the form as a draft without making it live. Then you publish, which pushes the form live so users can access it via its URL.

You can also control availability independently of publishing using the Enabled checkbox in the Details tab. A form can be published but disabled — meaning the design is live but users can't access it until you enable it.

Save and Publish

Save and Publish are separate actions, available from the Template tab in the Form Designer.

  1. Open your form template and go to the Template tab.
  2. When you've finished making changes, click Save to store your work as a draft. The form design is saved but not yet live.
  3. Use Test Form to preview the form and confirm everything looks and behaves as expected.
  4. When you're ready, click Publish. The current saved version of the form goes live immediately and is accessible to users via the form URL.
‍Save before you publish: Publish pushes the last saved version live — not your unsaved changes. Always click Save first to make sure the version you intend to publish is the one users will see.

‍

‍Check the live form: After publishing, use the Click here to view form link in the Details tab to open the live form directly. It's a quick way to confirm everything is rendering correctly for users.

‍

Enable or Disable a Form

The Enabled checkbox in the Details tab controls whether users can access a published form. It's the fastest way to take a form offline temporarily — or hold it in a ready state until you want to open it up — without unpublishing or deleting it.

To enable or disable a form:

  1. Open the form template and click the Details tab.
  2. Tick or untick the Enabled checkbox under Edit form.
  3. Click Update to save the change. It takes effect immediately — no re-publish needed.

A disabled form will still appear in the Templates list with no tick in the Enabled column. It won't be accessible to users until it's re-enabled.

‍

Save often as you build, publish when you're ready for users, and use the Enabled toggle whenever you need to quickly open or close access without touching the form design itself.
