CORE MODULE

Configuring Branding and CSS Settings for Modules

What you'll learn in this guide

Where to apply custom CSS in each module so you can match CX Platform to your company's brand, and how to make sure those changes show up once you've saved them.

‍

Overview

The look and feel of CX Platform is highly configurable. If you want the admin portal to reflect your brand — your logo, your colours, your typography — you can do it with custom CSS, no developer required.

Each module has its own CSS editor tucked away in Edit settings. The exact location differs slightly between Send and Receive, so this guide walks you through both.

One thing worth knowing up front: after saving any CSS change, you'll need to clear the cache before your styles appear. It's a quick extra click, but skip it and you'll be left wondering why nothing's changed.

‍

Heads up
‍
Branding applied in the Send module covers both Send and Archive. You don't need to configure Archive separately.

‍

Apply branding in the Send module

Send is where you'll set up the admin portal branding that carries across to Archive as well. Custom CSS lives under Account settings, in the Admin Portal Branding card.

  1. In the secondary navigation menu, click Edit settings.
  2. Make sure you're on the Account settings tab.
  3. Scroll down to the Admin Portal Branding card.
  4. Add your custom CSS in the Custom CSS field.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the secondary navigation menu, click Clear cache to make your styles appear.

That's it — your branding is now live across both the Send and Archive modules. Refresh your browser if you'd like to take a look.

‍

Apply branding in the Receive module

Receive works a little differently. Instead of one branding card, you've got two settings to know about: Logo url under the System card, and Admin CSS under the UI card. The first points to your hosted logo, the second is where your custom CSS goes.

Link your logo

  1. In the secondary navigation menu, click Edit settings.
  2. In the System card, find the Logo url row.
  3. Click the edit icon next to the current value and paste in the URL where your logo is hosted.
  4. Click Save.

Add your custom CSS

  1. Still on the Edit settings page, scroll down to the UI card.
  2. Find the Admin CSS row and click the edit icon to open the editor.
  3. Paste your custom CSS into the Value field. You can use Format HTML to tidy things up before saving.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Back on the Receive module, click Clear cache in the secondary navigation menu to see your new styles.

Your Receive module now reflects your branding. If something doesn't look quite right, double-check your CSS for typos and clear the cache again — it's the most common culprit.

‍

Cache, every time
‍
Any time you tweak CSS, save and clear the cache. Browsers and CDNs hold onto the old version, so without that clear step, your changes won't show up — even though they're saved.

‍

What's next

Once your branding is in place, it's a good idea to do a quick walk-through of the admin portal to check everything looks the way you'd expect. Pay attention to buttons, navigation, headings, and any cards — these are the spots where custom CSS tends to land first.

If you're rolling out CX Platform across a team, share a screenshot with your stakeholders before you go live. It's much easier to fine-tune the styling now than after everyone's logged in.
