A one-to-one send goes to a single recipient, so the preview shows you exactly what that one person will receive. It renders your template with their data, which means the placeholders you set up — their name, account number, balance — appear as the real values, not as raw tokens.

With a one-off send there's no safety in numbers. The message either lands correctly or it doesn't, so a quick preview is well worth the moment it takes. It confirms the variables resolve, the links work, and the content reads the way you intended.

In the Generate module, every one-to-one communication ends the same way — with a preview. Whether you've built it from a case, started one without a case, or put it together manually, preview is the last step in the workflow before the communication is sent.

It's where the three paths meet. However you got here, the preview renders your communication with the recipient's data, so you can confirm everything's right before it goes out.

Check everything's right

With the preview open against your recipient, run your eye over the essentials. Since this is your final check, it's worth a careful look:

• Merge variables — every placeholder resolves to that recipient's real details, with no raw tokens like %%FirstName%% showing through.
• The right person — the name, address, and any references all belong to the recipient you're sending to.
• Content and formatting — the copy reads correctly, and spacing, headings, and images sit where they should.
• Links and buttons — they point where they're meant to and open correctly.
• Attachments — the right files are attached and open cleanly.

That's it — once the preview checks out, you can send your communication knowing exactly what your recipient will receive. If something's off, head back, make your edit, and the preview will reflect the change before you send for real.
