Overview
The Generate module is where you produce communications one at a time, on demand. Instead of running a whole campaign the way you would in Send, you look up a single recipient, choose a template, and create a personalised document or message just for them.
It's the module you'll reach for when something needs producing ad hoc, outside your scheduled sends. A good example is when a member calls in and needs a copy of a statement resent, or when you need to generate a single letter or notice for one person rather than a whole list.
Everything you need lives in the left-hand menu, grouped into a few clear areas. Here's how to find the module and what each part of it does.
Primary navigation
The primary navigation runs left to right across the top of the screen. It's where you switch between the core modules — Send, Receive, and Archive — along with any add-on modules included in your configuration and licensing, such as Generate, Verify, and Supermatch.
- Click Generate in the top navigation to open the module.
Once you're in, the menu on the left changes to show everything specific to Generate.
Secondary navigation
The secondary navigation runs vertically down the left-hand side of the screen. This is your home base inside Generate, and it's split into three areas: Generate, Templates, and Generate settings.
Here's a quick rundown of what each menu item is for and when you'd use it.
Good to know
What you see in this menu depends on your access. If your role doesn't include a particular area, it won't show up here.
Find a member
Most of the time you'll start by tracking down the person you're generating for. Here's how.
- In the secondary navigation, click Members to open the Find member page.
- Type the member's name (or other details) into the search box at the top right, then click Search.
- Check the results. Each row shows the Member Number, Name, and DOB, so you can confirm you've found the right person before going any further.
- Click the member's Member Number, or the search icon beside their row, to open their record.
That's you ready to go. From here you can pick a template and produce a personalised communication for that member, all from the one screen.
